Just days after the Ontario election, the NDP caucus is recommending Peter Tabuns as interim leader until the party picks Andrea Horwath’s successor.
The NDP’s provincial executive must confirm it Wednesday night, before the provincial council makes the final decision later.
While no one’s officially declared their candidacy, Marit Stiles told Zoomer Radio’s ”Fight Back” with Libby Znaimer, she’s definitely seriously considering it.
”I’m talking to my family, talking to my colleagues, talking to the party members and my community to see what they think, and mostly to see whether they think that I could achieve some of the things that I’ve talked about,” Stiles told the show.
MPP’s Catherine Fife and Joel Harden have also said they’re considering the idea of running to replace Horwath.
Tabuns ran for the leadership in 2009 when Horwath’s predecessor, Howard Hampton, resigned.
He came second to Horwath.
