Toronto residents are lining up for their fourth COVID-19 shots, also known as second boosters.

A news release from Team Toronto on Friday says more than 45,000 fourth doses were administered to eligible Torontonians for the second consecutive week.

That brings the total to just over 91,045 since eligibility was expanded July 14th to allow for all adults 18 and over to get a fourth shot.

More than 92-percent of city residents 12 and over have received their first dose, while just under 90-percent have received two doses. And 67-percent of eligible residents 18 and over have received a third shot of COVID vaccine.

On Thursday, babies as young as 6 months became eligible to get a first dose of pediatric COVID-19 vaccine, while those between 12 and 17 who are considered immunocompromised may now receive a fourth dose.
