Saying he’s committed to rebuilding the city and ensuring it comes back stronger than ever from the pandemic, Mayor John Tory has unveiled the members of his Economic Recovery Advisory Panel.
”I have been clear that this is my focus as Mayor and that work will happened with the help of this new panel,” said Tory.
Leaders from various sectors, including tourism (Destination Toronto), business (Toronto Region Board of Trade) and travel (Greater Toronto Airports Authority) will provide suggestions for economic recovery and how to best position Toronto locally, nationally and globally.
The focus of the panel’s first meeting August 16 will be the future of work in the city, including discussions on the return to office and how new hybrid and remote models can work in Toronto and for employers and their employees.
The five pillars of Tory’s plan for recovery include encouraging the return to office downtown, attracting new businesses and talent, supporting businesses; especially small businesses, spurring growth in all sectors and adapting to the future and including a lot of the transformational changes taking place as a result of COVID-19.
