KYIV RESIDENTS BRACE FOR HEAVY RUSSIAN MILITARY ATTACKS ON THIS UKRAINIAN INDEPENDENCE DAY

Residents of Kyiv are bracing for the possibility of heavy Russian missile attacks on this Wednesday August 24th, as this is Ukraine’s Independence Day.

Today also marks six months since Vladimir Putin began his invasion of the sovereign nation.

Large scale gatherings have been banned in Ukraine’s capital until Thursday and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is urging people to be vigilant.

To commemorate the 31st anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, a dramatic video has been released, showing a young girl witnessing the start of the war and ongoing aftermath.

Wednesday’s holiday commemorates Ukraine’s 1991 declaration of independence from the Soviet Union.

Ukraine’s ambassador to Canada marks Ukraine’s Independence Day with the start of an immersive exhibition in Toronto, created during the most violent phases of Vladimir Putin’s Russian war.

Yulia Kovaliv will launch a multimedia exhibition featuring footage of Ukrainians defending their country on the front lines.
