Talk about sibling rivalry.
Two brothers — who haven’t spoken to each other for 30-years — are now competing to become the next mayor of Port Colborne.
Bill Steele was running unopposed in the Niagara region city until his brother Charles signed up for the race, meaning there’ll be two Steeles on the ballot in October.
Charles decided to run saying if his brother was acclaimed, it’s not democracy adding he doesn’t think his brother’s too happy about competing against him.
Bill spent 17 years as a city councillor and was first elected mayor in 2018 , hoping to continue the work that was put on the backburner due to the pandemic.
But Charles says his brother hasn’t done much during his time in office.
