Monday October 24th marks eight months since Vladimir Putin’s Russian forces invaded the sovereign nation of Ukraine.
Ukrainian authorities Monday tried to quell public fears over Russia’s use of Iranian-built drones in Ukraine by claiming increasing success in shooting down the small aircraft, while talk of a “dirty bomb” attack has added another worrying dimension to this war.
Ukrainians are bracing for less electric power this winter following a sustained Russian barrage on infrastructure across their country during October.
The head of Ukraine’s intelligence service Kyrylo Budanov said in an interview published Monday, that as of Saturday, Ukraine’s forces had shot down more than two-thirds of the approximately 330 Shahed drones that Russian forces had fired.
