PAUL GROSS TO PLAY KING LEAR AT STRATFORD

He’s best known for playing a RCMP Constable Benton Fraser in the popular ’90’s TV series “Due South.”

Canadian actor Paul Gross returns to his theatre roots to play King Lear at the Stratford Festival next year.

 

The 63 year old will take on the role of the elderly king 23 years after his turn as Hamlet on the same Stratford stage.

Also in the cast of next spring’s Shakespearean tragedy;  mainstay Michael Blake as Edmund,  Tara Sky as Cordelia and DeÌjah Dixon-Green as Regan.

Also at the festival, actor Krystin Pellerin will play the Princess of Wales in “Casey and Diana.”

The show chronicles the royal’s visit to the Toronto AIDS hospice Casey House.
