The Olympic and Paralympic mascot for the 2024 Paris Games have been unveiled. It’s a Phrygian cap.

The soft, vibrant red cap is a modern take on the traditional conical hat. It also goes by the name “liberty cap.”

Later, it came to represent the French Revolution’s quest for liberty.

The triangular Olympic cap mascot has a cheerful smile, blue eyes, a tricolour ribbon, and large, brightly coloured sneakers.

The prosthetic leg used in the Paralympic edition extends to the knee.

Organizers claim they preferred something that reflected a “ideal” rather an animal or other living thing.
