This summer’s blockbuster movie seems to be having a real impact on the top baby names in the province in 2022.

Maverick – the nickname of Tom Cruise’s character in the Top Gun series – made its way into the top 30 in a number of areas across the province, even cracking the top 10 in Kingston and top 15 in Windsor.

But some traditional favourites are still topping the list.

Olivia and Noah are still the most popular baby names in a list to be released by the province.

Other names cracking the list are Emma, Charlotte, Amelia and Sophia for girls, and Liam, Oliver, Jack, and Benjamin for boys.
