Washington and Ottawa confirm Joe Biden will visit Canada in March; his first official visit since becoming president.
The announcement followed a meeting between Biden and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the North American Leaders’ Summit in Mexico City.
Shortly after the 2020 election, MPs unanimously agreed to invite Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris to visit as soon as the pandemic was under control in both countries.
Biden was invited to address Parliament at the time, however, details of the upcoming visit, including exact dates and locations, have not yet been announced.
The last president to address Parliament was Barack Obama in 2016.
