We have details on the public celebration of life for Hazel McCallion, who died last Sunday two weeks before her 102nd birthday.

In fact, a state funeral will be held for the former long time Mississauga mayor on her birthday, Valentine’s Day February 14th at 11am at Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga, and the public is invited to attend.

We are told ticket information will soon be available at Paramount Fine Foods Centre and seating will be limited.

There will also be a livestream of the funeral.

And ahead of the service, Hazel McCallion will lie in repose at Mississauga City Hall.

People may visit the iconic Canadian mayor on Sunday February 12th and Monday February 13th from 11am to 7pm.
