Two children are dead and at least six were hospitalized after a city bus crashed into a daycare, just north of Montreal, in Laval.
The driver, a 51-year-old man, faces charges of homicide and dangerous driving.
Police were called earlier this morning after the bus crashed through the front of Garderie Educative Ste-Rose.
Laval’s mayor says the driver has worked for the transit agency for about 10-years and had no prior incidents on his record.
”There is a theory that it was an intentional act, but that remains to be confirmed by the investigation,” said Mayor Stephane Boyer.
A woman who lives across the street from the daycare says she and her husband ran over to help, that her husband and three other men held the driver until police arrived.
She says the driver was ”hysterical.”
