Doug Ford is responding to critics after he was cleared of wrongdoing by the integrity commissioner. He’s referring to a wedding party last summer for his daughter attended by some of his developer friends. It comes amid accusations the Ford government tipped off developers before announcing its controversial decision to open up parts of the protected Greenbelt to development.
Based on information provided, the commissioner’s office says Ford had no knowledge of gifts given to his daughter and that there was no discussion of government business at either event.
The Premier says he knows right from wrong.
“I know hundreds of developers, I know hundreds of private sector folks, I know hundreds of healthcare workers and police officers and I believe in growing the province, I believe in getting builders here.”
Ford made the remarks in Ohsweken near Hamilton where he announced that the federal and provincial governments are building the country’s largest battery storage project in Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation.
The premier adds the project will more than double the amount of clean energy storage.
