An unknown high-altitude object that the U.S. shot down over Alaska Friday was heading into Canadian airspace according to sources. There’s been no official government confirmation it was heading into Canada.

Pentagon spokesman Brigadier-General Pat Ryder says the object was flying at about 40,000 feet and posed a “reasonable threat” to civilian flights.

“We have no further details about the object at this time including any description of its capabilities, it’s purpose or origin, the object was about the size of a small car so not similar in size or shape to the high altitude surveillance balloon that was taken down off the coast of South Carolina on February 4th.”

Meantime, debris from the suspected China spy balloon has been gathered and is being analyzed in the lab.
