Andrews McMeel Universal, the distributor of the Dilbert comic strip, has announced that it will no longer work with the strip’s creator, Scott Adams.

Hugh Andrews, Chairman of Andrews McMeel, and CEO and President Andy Sareyan announced in a joint statement on Sunday that the syndication company is ending its relationship with Adams because his recent comments on race were incompatible with the company’s core values.

Adams described Black people as members of a “hate group” from which white people should “get away” in the February 22 episode of his YouTube show.

Several media publishers in the United States condemned the comments as racist, hateful, and discriminatory, and stated that they would no longer provide a platform for his work.
