The hike will add $1.30 to the cost of filling a 40 litre tank, $5.22 to the average monthly household natural gas bill and 77 cents to the cost of a full propane tank.

However, the Trudeau Liberals are also increasing the amount of the carbon price rebate cheques issued to residents of Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Yukon and Nunavut, to ease the increase on household budgets.
