In her day, she drew particular acclaim for her performances and recordings of Mozart.
Austrian-born pianist Ingrid Haebler began impressing critics while still in her 20s with elegant interpretations of Mozart that set her apart from other musicians and resulted in a career that spanned the concert halls of Europe and the Americas.
Last year, Decca Classics released “Ingrid Haebler: The Philips Legacy,” a boxed set of dozens of recordings she made for the Philips label. The company posted news of Haebler’s death to Facebook over the weekend saying she died May 14th, but offered no location, cause or information about survivors .
It’s believed Ingrid Haebler was 96.
