After a two-week search former Calgary Flames general manager Brad Treliving has been named the Maple Leafs new manager, taking over for Kyle Dubas.
”I’m thrilled to join an Original Six team and recognnize how much the Maple Leafs mean to this community,” said Treliving in a statement.
The team has the 28th overall pick in the June 28-29 draft.
The Leafs head toward free agency July 1 with 10 unrestricted players and about $17-million in cap space room.
He’ll also have to work on extensions for Auston Matthews and William Nyhlander.
A no-movement clause kicks in the same date for Matthews and Mitch Marner along with a 10-team no-trade clause for Nylander.
