Toronto Elections says the mail-in voting drop box at Wellesley Community Centre at 495 Sherbourne Street was vandalized around 9:30p.m. Tuesday.
Police are investigating.
Mail-in voting drop box locations are emptied daily until June 15 and monitored by security cameras.
Toronto Elections believes about 7 completed mail-in voting packages were damaged.
Voters who dropped off their completed mail-in package yesterday at Wellesley Community Centre are asked to contact Elections officials to see what options are available to ensure their vote’s counted.
Those voters can call 416-338-1111 and press option 5 or email [email protected]
In response to the incident all drop boxes will be moved inside after hour at the locations where they’re currently placed.
