Norman Jewison’s Canadian Film Centre is adding a soundtrack to its many programs.

The CFC is setting up a Music Lab that will offer a nine-month music residency to two composers and two songwriters.

The four chosen musicians will receive intensive training that will give them added tools and connections to work in film, TV, and new media.

Award-winning film composer Mychael Danna will chair the composition component of the program. He’s currently working with director Ang Lee on a film adaptation of Yann Martel’s novel “The Life of Pi”.

Blue Rodeo frontman Jim Cuddy will chair the songwriting component.

The CFC is now accepting applications for the Music Lab. The first session will get underway in the fall.
