Yesterday was Toronto’s hottest July fourth on record. The high of 36.3 Celcius broke the previous record of 36.1 set in 1955. And, although the humidex advisory has been lifted, the Extreme Heat Alert continues as temperatures continue to climb into the thirties.

The Extreme Heat Alert means cooling centres will be open at the Metro Hall, East York Civic Centre, North York Civic Centre, Driftwood Community Centre, Etobicoke Olympium, McGregor Community Centre, and Centennial Park Community Centre. In addition, eight city pools will remain open late.
