Drug manufacturer Pfizer has agreed to stop making claims about its Centrum multivitamins that have led to allegations of deceptive advertising in the US.

The Centre For Science in the Public Interest had threatened to sue Pfizer for making claims that its Centrum Ultra vitamins for men and women promoted “breast and colon health”.

The Ultra line of Centrum vitamins are not sold in Canada.

Pfizer says it disagrees with the complaints but will stop making the claims.

The Centre for Science in the Public Interest has led a movement to monitor health claims made by supplement manufacturers.
