Tory Leader Tim Hudak is warning that what he calls outdated labour laws could inflate the cost of the Pan-Am Games.
For example, Hudak says the 155 million dollars budgeted to renovate Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton could end up being up to 40 per cent higher.
Hudak says that’s because the city has an exclusive contract with one carpenters union.
Charles Sousa, the minister responsible for the Games, says there’s appropriate oversight in place for the Games budget.
