A prolific Hollywood producer — and member of Hollywood royalty — has died.
Richard Zanuck was 77.
The son of legendary “Gone With The Wind” producer Darryl F. Zanuck became the youngest studio head in history when he took over 20th Century Fox at the age of 28.
He was also at the helm of a few modern classics, including “The Sound of Music”, “Jaws”, and “Driving Miss Daisy”, for which he won an Academy Award. More recently, he collaborated with Tim Burton on “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and “Alice in Wonderland”.
Clint Eastwood said of Zanuck, “A lot of producers are producers in name only. Dick was the real deal.”
