It’s a favourite of Canadian zoomers.  The British TV drama “Downton Abbey” is a leading nominee for the Primetime Emmy Awards.   “Downton Abbey”, which airs on Vision TV in Canada, is in the running for the best television drama series along with “Boardwalk Empire”, “Breaking Bad”, “Game of Thrones”, “Homeland” and “Mad Men”.  The stars of Downton Abbey have also been acknowledged today by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles.   Hugh Bonneville has been nominated for best actor in a TV drama series.  Michelle Dockery has been nominated for best actress in a television drama series.  “Mad Men” could set a record at the Emmy’s.  If the show about a 1960s ad agency wins best TV drama series, it will be a record setting fifth time.  The 64th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be presented Sept. 23 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
