Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is calling for help from the senior levels of government to deal with escalating gang violence in Toronto.
Ford will be meeting with Premier Dalton McGuinty next week to talk about how to avoid a repeat of the deadly shoot-out on Monday that killed two young people and left more than 20 others wounded.
Ford says he will also be putting pressure on the federal government to help.
The Mayor says Toronto has a gang problem and that what he called “gun-toting cowards” will be chased out of his city.
