QUEEN AND SPADINA REOPENS

Two weeks of inconvenience has come to an end at Queen and Spadina.  The downtown Toronto intersection had been closed to all traffic for the past two weeks to accomodate TTC track and passenger island reconstruction.  Buses, streetcars and vehicular traffic were forced to find alternative routes around the area.  Lanes reopened just after 6am today allowing traffic to once again move through Queen and Spadina.  Pedestrians were still able to walk through the area during the closure, but Marilyn Weston, who owns Marilyn’s, at 200 Spadina Avenue, says business was way down over the past two weeks because of the closure.  She offered incentives to her customers as a way of thanking them for making an extra effort to shop at her store.  Marilyn Weston is the host of “From a Woman’s Perspective” Saturday mornings at 8 o’clock on Zoomer Radio, The New AM740.
