The Toronto International Film Festival has announced a star-studded lineup for this fall’s event.
TIFF will open with Looper, a time-and-mind-bending thriller starring Bruce Willis. Artistic Director Cameron Bailey says he has been impressed with Looper director Rian Johnson’s “ability to engage both the mind and the heart.”
TIFF will feature a number of premieres, including Ben Affleck’s Argo, set during the Iranian revolution and the American embassy staff being sheltered by Canadian Ambassador Ken Taylor.
Dustin Hoffman will also make his debut as a director in Quartet, a story about rivalries among retired opera singers.
