British Novelist Hilary Mantel is one of the novelists nominated for this year’s Man Booker Prize.
Already a Man Booker winner, Mantel is on the long list for Bring Up the Bodies, the second in her trilogy on Thomas Cromwell.
This year’s long list is made up of nine British authors and one each from South Africa, India, and Malaysia. No Canadians made the long list.
The Man Booker Prize is given annually to the best novel written in English by an author from the UK, the Commonwealth, or Ireland. It carries a cash prize of almost $80,000.
The long list can be seen online at www.themanbookerprize.com.
One of the nominees, British author Rachel Joyce, will be Mike and Jean’s guest on Good Day GTA next Tuesday at 9:30.
