A week after trying to rid New York City of large sugary drinks, Mayor Michael Bloomberg is latching on to another health issue.
He’s launching a campaign to promote breastfeeding.
Bloomberg has received some flak over a new city policy that discourages baby formula from being used in hospitals.
The voluntary policy is scheduled to go into effect in September.
While the U-S National Alliance for Breastfeeding Advocacy applauds his efforts, critics are chiding the mayor for imposing what they describe as a “nanny state.”
