WALKING IS MAGIC PILL FOR HEALTH

Walking just might be the best medicine to staying well as we age.   A report by the U.S. Centres for Disease Control says a prescription for walking is the magic pill for good health.  CDC Director Doctor Thomas Frieden says the list of benefits provided by walking is long,  “It makes you healthier and happier.  You live longer.  You have a lower risk of heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, a lower risk of diabetes and cancer, a lower risk of falls and depression, and a lower risk of cognitive decline as you get older.”
