Prince Philip is in hospital in Scotland after a recurrence of a bladder infection.

It’s the third time the husband of the Queen has been hospitalized in less than a year.

The Duke of Edinburgh, fell ill while the couple were staying at Balmoral, their Scottish royal residence.

He was driven to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, 60 kms away, suggesting the problem was not too serious.

The 91-year-old Philip’s likely to remain there for the next few days as a precaution.

He was hospitalized for five days in June with a bladder infection that may have been aggravated by his prolonged appearance at a flotilla pageant marking the Queen’s 60-year reign.

The Duke later resumed royal duties, attending the opening ceremony of the Olympics on July 27 and carrying out engagements on the Isle of Wight on Monday.

He has looked well at recent events.

The Duke was diagnosed with heart disease in December after experiencing chest pains that required him to spend Christmas at a hospital.

He underwent a successful coronary stent procedure and seemed to recover well, resuming a full schedule within several weeks.
