With just over 2 weeks until kids go back to school, a new Bank of Montreal survey suggests Canadians will spend more money than last year on back to school shopping.
It says Canadians will spend an average of just over $360 on everything from crayons, to shoes, to laptops. That’s up more than $40 from last year.
The parking lots may not be as busy though. About 25 per cent of respondents said they plan to do their shopping online this year.
For many retailers, the back-to-school shopping season is second only to the holiday season.
