Children across the province say so long to a care free summer and prepare to head back to school today. It’s always exciting for the little ones who may not be paying close attention to the traffic. With this in mind, police are asking drivers to slow down and stay focused in school zones.
Ontario teachers also go back to class with some uncertainty about their future. A bill to legislate a 2 year wage freeze and reduced sick days goes to committee hearings at Queens Park this week, with a vote expected on Monday. Premier Dalton McGuinty says it’s all about living within our means in these tough economic times. Three Ontario teachers unions say they’ll go to the Supreme Court to fight the legislation.
