Protests continue in the Middle East over an anti-Islam film produced by a California man.  In the capitol of Yemen today, demonstrators stormed the U.S. Embassy compound, but did not enter the actual office building. Earlier they removed the embassy’s sign on the outer wall and set tires ablaze, and once inside the compound, they brought down the U.S. flag and burned it. 

Also, the US consulate in Berlin, Germany has been evacuated as a precaution after an employee reported a strange smell from an envelope.

The Obama administration is looking into whether the attack in Benghazi, Libya on Tuesday was designed to mark the anniversary of the 2001 September 11th attacks. It was originally thought the violence which killed the U.S. Ambassador to Libya was connected to anger over an anti-Islam film.  Former ambassador Martin Indyk is now at the Brookings Institution in Washington.  He says it’s likely the attacks are the work of terrorists commemorating 9-11. 

A promise was made yesterday by U.S. President Obama to hunt down those responsible.  He also reassured that security is being stepped up at American missions around the world.
