It’s an opportunity for Torontonians to say thank you to Canada’s Olympians!  Just over a month after the Olympic games finished up in London, our athletes have arrived in Toronto to begin a two day tour.  Today, they will visit local schools and the Hospital for Sick Children, along with Queen’s Park before walking through Toronto’s downtown streets in a parade set for Friday.

Canada’s Chef de Mission Mark Tewksbury says our Olympians are really feeling the love.  He says, “I think after Vancouver, Canada fell in love with the Olympic team and we were hoping the same thing would happen after London.  It was an emotional rollercoaster for this team, which Canada really rallied behind, from the women’s soccer team to the relay disqualification for the bronze medal, Canada really felt for this team.”

Canada’s Olympians received a special thank you from Prime Minister Harper while in Ottawa yesterday, which included a tribute in the House of Commons.
