The list of beef products being recalled from Alberta’s XL Foods due to possible E. coli contamination has grown again.  An alert by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has been updated to add dozens of additional products sold across the country to an already lengthy list of recalled beef.  You can access the list of recalled beef products online at inspection.gc.ca.

This latest news came just hours after MPs wrapped up an emergency debate in the House of Commons into the government’s handling of the recall.  Opposition Members say government cutbacks have resulted in the largest food recall in Canadian history.  But the Conservatives say the number of food inspectors at the plant in question is greater than in 2006 when Stephen Harper became prime minister.
