The Toronto Symphony Orchestra has revealed the name of it’s RBC Resident Conductor and Composer.
He is Israeli-born Canadian clarinetist Shalom Bard – the former Resident-Conductor of Symphony Nova Scotia.
Bard will work with Music Director Peter Oundjian and the artistic staff of the TSO and consult with guest conductors. Bard will also conduct as many as 20 concerts in the upcoming season.
He will make his Toronto TSO conducting début at a special concert featuring Grammy winning violinist Maxim Vengerov tomorrow night October 20th at Roy Thomson Hall.
And the world renowned violnist will be conducting a Master Class on Sunday with Canada’s top young musicians from The Royal Conservatory’s Young Artists Performance Academy and the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra.
