Tamas Dobozy has won the Rogers Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize
The 43-year-old picked up the $25,000 award for his collection of short stories, Siege 13.
The Waterloo resident dedicated last night’s prize to his father, whose anecdotes of the brutal battle of Budapest during the Second World War inspired the short story collection.
Siege 13 is also in contention for the Governor General’s Literary Award for Fiction, which will be awarded next week.
