There’s an urgent warning that Canada’s aging infrastructure is crumbling.
And the Federation of Canadian Municipalities wants long-term investment from the federal government to address the problem.
The Federation says traffic congestion alone is costing the country 10-billion dollars a year in lost productivity.
The group also says one in four municipal wastewater treatment plants will need major upgrades to meet new federal regulations.
Federal funding commitments worth two billion a year are set to end in 2014.
