Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s removal from office is on hold.
Clayton Ruby, the lawyer who brought the confilct-of-interest action against Ford, has agreed to a stay of the judge’s ruling kicking the mayor out of office.
Ruby says agreeing to the stay will give the city a “measure of stability” while Ford’s appeal is decided.
The stay was to be heard Wednesday and a full appeal is expected to be heard early next month.
Last week, an Ontario judge ordered Ford removed from office for voting on a matter in which he had a financial interest.
Ford blasted a left-wing conspiracy for the ouster.
