It’s being called “Super Tuesday”.

But, for thousands of frustrated parents, there’s nothing super about it.

Thirty-five thousand elementary school teachers — more than half of them in the GTA — are  off the job today to protest against the province’s Bill 115.

Union president Sam Hammond says the action is meant to keep pressure on the Provincial government. But Education Minister Laurel Broten says the job action doesn’t move the two sides any closer to a settlement.

Elementary Schools in Toronto are closed today. Teachers in Peel, Durham, and five other boards are also off the job.
