A 6-million dollar libel lawsuit against Mayor Rob Ford has been dismissed.

A decision from Justice John Macdonald says lawyers for Boardwalk Cafe owner George Foulidis  failed to prove that comments Ford made alleging corruption damaged Foulidis’s reputation.

In an interview with the Toronto Sun, Ford criticized a deal to extend Boardwalk’s exclusive lease to sell food at Woodbine beach.

The then-councillor also spoke against what he saw as “corruption” at city hall.

Foulidis alleged that Ford had libelled him by implying the Boardwalk deal was not above-board.
