Ontario New Democrats are threatening to topple the minority Liberal government over auto insurance premiums.
Andrea Horwath insists if the Liberals don’t cut premiums by 15 per cent in the spring budget and meet her party’s other demands she won’t be afraid to pull the trigger.
With the Tories itching to have an election, the Liberals need the N-D-P’s support to survive.
The premier says insurance rates need to be worked on, but her government wants to tackle auto insurance fraud and have the savings applied to premiums.
Kathleen Wynne says she wants to work with the opposition parties, but if they decide they want an election, she’s prepared to go to the polls.
