A spokeswoman for the Bolshoi Theater says police have detained a suspect in the January acid attack on its artistic director.
Moscow police say they are questioning a suspect in the attack but did not provide any other details.
The theatre’s artistic director, Sergei Filin, was left with severe burns to his eyes and face when an unidentified attacker threw sulfuric acid in his face on January 17th as he was returning home from work. He’s now undergoing treatment in Germany.
Filin’s colleagues have said the attack on Filin could be in retaliation for his selection of certain dancers over others for prized roles.
