We now know what MGM Resorts International and Cadillac Fairview have in mind for the casino complex they want to build at Exhibition Place.
Plans were unveiled this morning showing a 12-hundred room hotel in the shape of a curved sail, a shopping mall, a permanent theatre for Cirque du Soleil and 10 restaurants as part of a 3 million square-foot complex.
Alan Feldman is Senior Vice President of Public Afairs with MGM Resorts International.
He says opposition to building a casino in Toronto is mostly emotion and fear based.
According to Feldman, the complex would generate 10-thousand permanent full-time jobs and another 4-thousand construction jobs.
Mayor Rob Ford has voiced support for the casino, saying it could be a way to help bring in revenue for the city without raising taxes.
