Winter is going down swinging.
We’re about to get one final winter storm before Spring arrives Wednesday morning. A low pressure system from the Southern Plains States is heading our way. We’re expecting it to hit the GTA around the noon hour.
Environment Canada says it will bring us a messy mix of precipitation. Snow, ice pellets, and some freezing rain will all be in the mix. We’ll get anywhere from two-to-five centimetres of snow and ice pellets. But most of it will wash away as the system changes over to rain.
The weather office is warning that the afternoon commute will be a particular challenge. Untreated roads may become
slippery and snow covered, and visibility in areas of heavier snow
may be quite low.
Both Air Canada and Porter Airlines have issued travel advisories, warning of delays and possible cancellations. If you’re flying today, they recommend you check the status of your flight before heading to the airport.
