It was the largest property crime in U-S history: the 1990 Isabella Stewart Gardner art heist. And the stolen masterworks have never been recovered.

Just after midnight on March 18, 1990, two men posing as police officers pulled off the heist, stealing 13 pieces of artwork worth as much as $500 million. Among the works are rare paintings by Rembrandt, Manet and Vermeer.

So the FBI is asking for help. It is now offering a five million dollar reward for the 13 works stolen from the museum in Boston.

FBI Special Agent Rick DesLauriers says they believe the thieves were members of organized crime and transported the works to Philadelphia and Connecticut over the years.

They have established a special website with background information and evidence gathered so far, hoping it will jog the memories of the public and bring in more evidence.
