A pair of class-action lawsuits against two of the country’s biggest banks have been given the go-ahead by the Supreme Court of Canada
More than 36-thousand employees of C-I-B-C and Scotiabank are seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in unpaid overtime.
The workers claim they were assigned more work than they could finish – within standard hours.
The banks had asked to appeal a lower court decision allowing the cases but the Supreme Court dismissed the application.
