Two Toronto city councillors are supporting allegations in a report in the Toronto Star about Mayor Rob Ford.

Paul Ainslee says he personally took action to request that Mayor Rob Ford leave a military gala last month. As part of the organizing committee for the Garrison Ball, Ainslee says he was approached by some people at the event who had concerns about the mayor. That’s when he says he had a quick chat with Rob Ford, followed by a request to Ford’s Chief of Staff that it would be better for everyone involved if the mayor left.

Now Councillor Joe Mihevic says he has seen Ford in situations where he was not “fully there.” Mihevic says he doesn’t know what Ford’s issues are, but he thinks the mayor needs to “come clean with those issues.”

Mayor Ford continues to deny vehemently the claims in the Star report that he was impaired, incoherent and rambling at the Garrison Ball. And Deputy Mayor Doug Holyday says he has never seen the mayor take a drink.
